Time & Talent

Committed volunteers provide needed services at Community HealthCare Connections, from answering telephones to answering questions, from logging medications in, to passing them out, there is always meaningful work to be done. If you're interested in investing some of your time and talent, please contact us. Of particular need are physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, dentists, nurses (RNs and LPNs), dental hygienists, and pharmacy technicians.

Treasure

All of the funding for the services we provide begins within Calhoun County. Every $1,000 contribution provides basic healthcare coverage for someone for an entire year: every $50 contribution ensures access to $1,000 worth of free medications. Volunteer Spotlight

"I have 8 wonderful kids and a wonderful husband. I've had a blessed life. Now it's time to give back." - Dolly Shepard, Volunteer for the Prescription Drug Access Program.

After working for many years in doctors' offices and being the primary care giver for her parents and in-laws until they passed on, Dolly had been praying for her next assignment. After reading an article in the paper about Community HealthCare Connections (CHC), she decided to come checkout CHC. On her way to inquire about volunteering, she ran into CHC Executive Director, Samantha Pearl. Before she knew it, she had committed to start as a volunteer the following week.

This was in April of 2010, and she has been enjoying her "new assignment" 2-4 days per week ever since. "I told my husband, I'm so glad I have Monday to wakeup to so I can go to work [at CHC]," Dolly said.
